Yearning For Spring Request

A blogger that I follow requested more rose photos from my garden. I am happy to do it.
I love roses and that's what inspired me to do this blog. This "Sentimental" rose of mine likes
to bloom in our cooler winter in Southern California with a little rain and  sunshine.

Here it is a day later falling apart in a very shabby chic way. We're expecting rain this
weekend.

I turned this rose upside down and around to get these photos. When it blooms it
never looks the same. It's a chameleon rose, if there is such a thing.

"....If I Should Die Before I Wake..."

When I was three years old my mother would put me to bed and
say a prayer before she tucked me in. In the prayer were these words
"If I should die before I wake".  I asked my mother what it felt like to
die and she did not know. I remember asking her to come back after
she died and tell me what it was like. She said she would. She passed
away twelve years ago and I am still waiting to hear from her.

WOW.

Suz, you have a powerful poem here. I think we are all waiting for that someone special we've lost to do exactly this. We are lovely children at heart, still waiting, still hoping.

Your roses are of great beauty, and between them and your chandelier love, I am swept away.....Anita

Thanks so much for featuring more of your roses, Suz. I'm totally captivated by them. They bring some brightness to us buried in 3 feet of snow and -20 temps, lol.

Hi Suz,
Ah the flowers in your part of the world, that and trees with leaves on them were the biggest treat.
Now I'm back to grey gloom and bareness.

Such beautiful roses. We have had a mild winter here in the Pacific Northwest but not mild enough for rose growing! Looking forward to Spring : )

Yay, how delicate!

I wanted to respond to your comment about being more disciplined in regards of sugar. It takes practice. I'd cut down a little at first, like just one piece of chocolate instead of four. The more you get into it, the more you see that "yes, you can".

How lovely to see roses! There is a promise of spring here in Albuquerque. (Doesn't it seem crazy that we have to wait so long between Downton seasons? But once in a while I do a marathon and watch from the beginning.) So nice that you came by! Hope you're good!
