Secret's Out

My 'Secret' rose burst out in bloom shortly after it rained and I took these photos of it.

This bloom is from the same 'Secret' rose plant.

My 'Sentimental' rose also bloomed.

This will be my last post for awhile. I'm taking a break until after the holidays from all blogging.
I wish all very happy holidays.

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave himself for me."  Galatians 2:20
New International Version of the Bible

This is Paul's 'Secret' that he shared with Peter, the Galatians,
and those who wanted to know what life in Christ really means.

Glitterfest

This past weekend I attended the Glitterfest in Santa Ana, California. It is a high-end
hand-made crafts show. I went because I knew Christie from Chateau De Fleurs and
Rita from Mammabellarte were going to have booths there and there was something
I wanted to buy from Rita. It is held twice a year-spring and fall. This was my first time
attending. Here are some of the things for sale I liked and what I bought from Rita.

There were some vintage things like this birdcage.

Gorgeous handmade mirrors. This was $85.00.

There were handmade dolls like this adorable Miss from

 Daydreaming

Orignial art like this from Christie Repasy.

Stuff  to keep dreams alive.

Lots of Halloween decor.

Handknit hats and purses made to order from The Wet Sheep.

The sign I bought from Rita of Mammabellarte  for my master bath with original rose art from
Christie of Chateau De Fleurs.

The Elks Lodge had nearly a dozen beautiful chandeliers hanging inside.
Not for sale.
This adorable little angel was there.

It was $7.00 to get in. You were entered in a
a  free raffle.  There was free coffee, decaf,
water and cookies. There was champagne
cocktails for sale in the back of the hall
with booths to sit in and rest after shopping.

Fall Art

Fall art is the art of carving pumpkins. This week mon amour carved a pumpkin with
with love in it's eyes.

I don't think it matters what the pumpkin looks like.

Mon amour used a pencil to draw his design.

After he removed the pulp he used a common knife
to carve the face of the pumpkin. No special tools.

Here is the finished love crazy pumpkin.

I put some Halloween polish on it.

Roses In The Rain

My rose plants thought it was summer till it rained this past week. Here they are soaking wet from
all that rain.

It rained for two days and the day after it was 75 degrees. My roses are happy bloomers. I was standing in the rain when I took these photos.

Fall Bake

I don't bake in the spring and summer. It's too hot here. I give it a try in the fall and winter. One of
my favorite things to bake is chocolate chip cookies. I baked these this week.

I use the recipe right off the package and I tried these new
dark chocolate chips from Nestles.

I have a secret ingredient of my own. I put in a little instant espresso coffee. I think it gives the
cookies a richer taste. I bought the mini ice cream scoop new last week at my supermarket.
It was $12.00. I tried to find one cheaper on-line. It wasn't there. The tin I found at Walmart
for $1.00. I just added one teaspoon of the instant espresso coffee as I thought the dark
chocolate morsels would add to the richness of the cookie, too.
I add just a few chopped walnuts. It's my personal taste.

I got four dozen cookies plus 5 with the mini scoop. In this photo there are a few missing as
I sampled them.
Are you planning to bake this fall and if so what are your favoites?
